You can earn coins by:
- Collecting taxes – To do this press the “Click to Hire a Tax Collector” button towards the bottom left of screen, you can then choose a tax collector, each tax collector has a price, a time required, and the amount of coins that tax collector will earn you. Once the time required has passed select the “Click to Collect Tax Now” button to get your coins! Please note that you only have as long as the time required for the tax collection to collect the coins after the collection is ready. For example, if you hire Pictor who collects tax in 4 hours, you have to select the “Click to Collect Tax Now” button between 4 and 8 hours after initially selecting him, otherwise you will lose the tax money. Please note that the taxes will increase with more happy people in your village (you increase your capacity by building more houses, and make them happy ones by adding buildings and decorations that add to happiness).
- Visiting friends – You can earn coins when you visit your friends each day for trade! Plus the first time you visit a new friend, there’s an extra bonus!
- Visiting Antonius – He always loves visitors!
- Friends' wall posts - Help your friends build the buildings they are trying for through wall posts, simply select "Help Name".
2. How do I earn Fame?
You earn Fame by adding / building new buildings, decorations, etc. and by researching! Fame helps you level up. When you level up you unlock things, such as new possible building and decorations and more space, see Question 17 for details!
3. What is happiness and how does it affect my game?
Happiness shows how content your villagers are. You taxes are based on your number of happy villagers, not your total capacity. So if your taxes advise that you will receive more taxes once your population reaches 1000, you need enough houses to have a capacity greater than 1000, and your happiness number to be more than 1000 also!
4. My friends play this game, but aren’t shown, how do I get them to show up in game?
In My Empire, you need to request that your friends add you as neighbours through the Facebook request system. To do this simply press one of the “Add Neighbor” buttons in your friends list:

Then select the friends you would like to send a neighbour request to from your Facebook friends list! You can accept any neighbour requests sent to you, and your friends can accept theirs from: http://www.facebook.com/#!/reqs.php Only once the neighbour request has been accepted will you and your friend show in each others’ games.
If you’d like to see which of your friends have the application, to help choose who to send to, check out this page: http://www.facebook.com/myempiregame...ge_type=mutual
5. Some buildings require wood, stone, bronze, tar, etc., how do I get these?
You can get Wood by building a Mill, Stone by building a Quarry and Bronze by building a Mine. These only produce at certain intervals, so start stocking up! (Also, please note that you need to collect the Wood, Stone, Bronze, etc. once it’s ready before the timer will start counting down towards the next produce.) Upgrade your Mill, Quarry and Mine (after researching the upgrades through your Academy) to allow production of more different resources.
For Tar, Gems, Pyramid Stones, Mercury, Sulfur, Jade, Diamond and Crystal, you can get these from free gifts that your friends send you, which you should be able to accept from here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/reqs.php Send your friends some of these free gifts by selecting the “Free Gifts” button towards the bottom left of screen and following the instructions, and perhaps they’ll send some back!
6. Some buildings say “Ask for help” or “Inspect progress”, what does this mean?
Buildings that say Ask for help when you try and build them are buildings that can only be build with the help of your friends! To build these buildings you need to post a feed to your Facebook wall and have your friends click “Help [name]” to assist you. Each building has a certain number of clicks needed. To ask your friends for help, select “Ask for help” then select “Share” and follow the steps to post to your Facebook wall.
Buildings that say Inspect progress are those that need more resources before construction can complete. Select the “Inspect progress” button to view what resources you still need. Once you have enough of a specific resource, select the check mark to the right of that resource to allow construction to progress.
7. What are Wonders?
Wonders are impressive buildings that require resources to build, but are very worthwhile as they increase your villagers’ happiness significantly, and also look cool!

8. How can I move / rearrange buildings and decorations?
There are two ways to move a building or decoration.
The first is to select the building or decoration that you would like to move, then click the blue arrows icon in the top right hand corner of the circle that appears around your building or decoration. Then simply move your pointer to the desired new location, and click to place.

The second is to select the action icon shown in the bottom right of your game screen, and then select the blue arrows move icon. Once this is selected click once to pick up any building or decoration, move your pointer to the desired new location, and then click to place.

9. What is research, and how do I do it?
Research allows you to upgrade your Quarry, Mill, Mine, Hall and Market. Upgrading your Quarry, Mill and Mine allow them to produce a larger variety of resources. Upgrading your Hall allows greater tax revenue, and upgrading your Market gives more coins from trade when visiting friends.
Once you are level 8 or higher, you can build an Academy, you find this in your Build – Functional menu. Once your Academy is complete, select the Research icon (next to your Build icon) to view available research and complete them. To upgrade your buildings once the research is complete, find the relevant building in the Build menu and select Upgrade. You can also upgrade your Academy after reaching certain levels, unlocking more available research.
10. I’m running out of space, and want to place newer (better) buildings and decorations, how do I remove them?
With decorations you have two choices, you can remove them completely, or put them into storage, in case you want to use them later. To remove them, select the action icon towards the lower right of screen, then select the shovel. Once the remove tool (shovel) is selected, simply click the decoration you would like to remove, and then confirm this with the pop up dialogue. Please note that removed decorations completely disappear, you cannot get them back (also you do not get any coins back when removing decorations). To place them in storage, select the action icon towards the lower right of screen, then select the brown boxes. Once the store tool (boxes) is selected, click the decorations you wish to store and they will be placed in your inventory. To re-use these at a later date, visit the Build – Decorations menu, any decorations you have in storage will be indicated by a small box in the top corner of that decoration with a number indicating the quantity.
With buildings you are only able to remove them completely. To remove them, select the action icon towards the lower right of screen, then select the shovel. Once the remove tool (shovel) is selected, simply click the building you would like to remove, and then confirm this with the pop up dialogue. Please note that removed buildings completely disappear, you cannot get them back. Also note that you do not receive any coins when they are removed.

Yes, as of the 22nd of July, 2010 game update, this is possible! To start use the Build Menu to build a Barracks (available in the Functional tab), and once built start training some soldiers using the Barracks icon!
You will need to complete a Map using the Map icon to find other territories for your army to explore, every day you log in awards you some free map fragments, and you can also ask friends for more (via Facebook feeds) or purchase fragments using PF-Cash.
